Frequently Asked Questions
Can someone unlock my door with a photo or video of me?
Ora FacePass models use biometric sensing intended to evaluate live facial features, but no biometric system should be treated as infallible. Review the current model documentation, keep an authorized fallback credential, and test the installed system under representative conditions.
Will your facial recognition work in low light or at night?
Performance can vary by model, placement, lighting, weather, enrollment, and user. Review current documentation and test day, night, backlighting, and other conditions at the actual door before relying on the feature.
I have darker skin. Will the facial recognition algorithm still work for me?
Biometric performance should be tested with the people and conditions in the intended deployment. Provide a documented alternative credential for anyone who cannot or does not wish to use facial recognition.
Where is my facial data stored? Is it safe?
Storage and administration can vary by model and software configuration. Request current documentation covering where templates are processed and stored, encryption, administrator access, retention, export, and deletion before enrollment.
What if someone looks like me — like a sibling or twin?
No facial-recognition system can guarantee that every similar-looking person will always be distinguished. Use administrator controls and an appropriate second factor or alternate policy where the risk requires it.
What types of doors is this compatible with?
Compatibility depends on the exact model and opening. FP01 is presented for compatible double-bore doors, FP02 for compatible residential deadbolt preparations, and FP03 for compatible mortise or multipoint applications. Confirm measurements and code requirements before installation.
Can I still use a key or keypad if I want to?
Supported backup methods vary by model and configuration. Review the current product page and confirm which face, fingerprint, PIN, key fob, mobile-app, emergency-power, and mechanical-key options are included.
Is there remote access or admin management?
App, cloud, portal, log, and remote-management functions can vary by model, region, firmware, and project configuration. Request a demonstration of the exact workflow you need before deployment.
How does this compare to competitors?
Compare products using current manufacturer documentation for door fit, credentials, video behavior, connectivity, privacy, warranty, support, and total installed cost. Avoid relying on an unsupported feature or price ranking.
How much does it cost?
Current pricing, availability, included components, and project terms can change. The store is catalog-only; request written pricing through the Product & Project Consultation form.
